I took some old steel landscaping wheelbarrows from my fathers landscaping business and cut them into strips, knowing that they had moved tonnes of earth and sand in their useful lifespan and that they were destined to return to the land in some way (landfill or rust) I decided they should pay homage to the layers of earth that have come before, by layering the strips of steel and joining them with rivets I built up this panel and then poured molten lead between the layers to hold them in place as a snapshot in time. I then mounted the panel in a frame made of some oak sleeper offcuts from a landscaping job.
