Chainsaw Sculpting

Its a popular art form for woodsmen and tree surgeons, I tried my hand at it one weekend. This hollowing of the trunk is technical but got me thinking I could create a 3D Celtic knot-work or the double helix of a genome, I could make a number of these from one tree to make an ephemeral skeleton of the original tree form.
