The Scrapwood Dragon I

I wanted to attend GreenMan festival in Wales and asked if they wanted me to exhibited anything, I was asked to come and create something along the theme of Wales or Welsh identity. I decided to go with a Dragon, after filling my van with as much scrap wood as possible I turned up to site with some google images of a Dragon and some friends having already created the dragon head at home. Using irrigation pipe to fill out the body around the skeletal timber frame the skin was made from broken fence panels which snapped in a jagged pattern. Attaching the head was dangerous as it was heavy and high up on the structure, lessons were learned in safety and time management; the furthest side of the dragon was left incomplete and it didn’t have any wings and so resembled an obese lizard.
